Dr. Battraw is originally from Thatcher, Arizona and attended the University of Arizona for her undergrad degree while working as a veterinary technician through school. She traveled all the way to Glasgow, Scotland for veterinary school and obtained her Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in 2014, the same year she became a part of the Twin Peaks family, and eventually Medical Director in 2021. In her free time, Dr. Battraw enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, reading, cooking and baking. She has a dog named Lucy, and three cats: Remy, Clancy and Nessie. Dr. Battraw’s special interests at Twin Peaks include surgery and kitten & puppy exams.
Dr. Brian Shear grew up in Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in biology. He then worked in a research lab for 3 years prior to attending veterinary school at Mississippi State University where he graduated in 2007. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife Renee and their dog Ellie; he recently started learning to play the drums, riding motorcycles, and has his pilot license so he enjoys time in the sky. At Twin Peaks Dr. Shear’s special interests include surgery, wound care, and lameness evaluations.
Dr. Miller was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and has practiced in Minnesota, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and settled in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Miller has completed a small animal rotating internship at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson, practiced emergency and critical care at Louisville Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services and completed a specialty dermatology internship at the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Miller is an avid Notre Dame fan (GO IRISH!) and loves spending time with his family- his wife Frannie, his new baby girl Rylen and his two labs Abbie (nicknamed Fish) and Finley (nicknamed Tot). His special interests at Twin Peaks include dermatology and internal medicine.
Dr. Madison McEldowney was born and raised in Tucson Arizona and earned her bachelor’s degree in biologic sciences at Northern Arizona University in 2017. She then earned her DVM from Washington State University in 2022. Her professional interests include wellness and preventative care as well as internal medicine.
When not in the hospital, Dr. McEldowney enjoys spending her time with her husband, Anthony, her cat, Gatsby, and her two dogs, a basset hound named Winston and a standard poodle named Stella. She enjoys creative pursuits, including painting, crocheting, sewing, and embroidering as well as enjoys spending time outdoors camping and hiking.
